Russell R. Widdifield


Russell R. Widdifield was in private first class. In 1969, during a ground movement he took a break. When he took a break, he was 25 miles from An Hoa, North Vietnam. He is wearing a backpack carrying food, water, and other ammunition. Around his neck are bullets for a gun. He has a vest on to protect himself. Russell R. Widdifield is of 3rd Platoon, Company M, 3rd Battalion, and 7th Marine Regiment. 3rd Battalion and 7th Marine Regiment are based at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twenty-nine Palms. It is of the United States Marine Corps and is an infantry battalion. It consists of around 800 marines. The battalion falls under command of the 1st Marine Division and the 7th Marine Regiment.
